Defining Your Beds Before Mulch Is Installed
Clean, well-defined edges make a huge difference in how a landscape looks. While edging is optional, we strongly recommend it with every mulch installation. Beds can be shaped using a mechanical bed shaper or detailed by hand, depending on the layout and access.
Creating a crisp edge clearly separates your mulched areas from turf and surrounding landscape features. It helps prevent grass from creeping into the beds, keeps mulch contained where it belongs, and gives the entire property a sharp, finished appearance.
Mulch Delivery & Installation Details
Minimum Installation = 2 Cubic Yards.
We do not use or deliver bulk loose mulch. In our experience, bulk mulch is often inconsistent in quality and can introduce unwanted debris. Instead, we install premium mulch that comes in 2-cubic-foot or 3-cubic-foot bags. The material is delivered to your property on pallets, and our crew distributes the bags directly into your garden beds before spreading.
This approach ensures consistent color, cleaner material, and a more uniform finished result.
Our mulching estimates include delivery, spreading (approximately one man hour per yard), professional bed edging if selected, and full cleanup of the work area. You’ll be left with neat, evenly installed beds that immediately improve curb appeal.
Preparing Garden Beds for Mulch
For the best results, beds should be weeded and cleared of debris prior to installation. Shrubs and nearby trees may need light trimming to prevent leaves and organic matter from dropping onto freshly installed mulch. Landscape fabric can be installed where appropriate.
If needed, we’re happy to include full bed preparation and cleanup services in your estimate so everything is handled at once.
